Do you know anyone who ISN’T using some form of social media?

Chances are, the answer is no.  Even Grandma is joining in- according to the findings of the Pew Internet & American Life Project:

  1. One in three online seniors uses social networking sites like Facebook and LinkedIn
  2. From April 2009 to May 2011, social networking site use among internet users ages 65 and older grew 150%, from 13% in 2009 to 33% in 2011
  3. Half of adults ages 65 and older are online


The short and simple of this is this: if you’re not using social networking sites for customer and audience engagement, you’re missing out, regardless of your target demographic.
